Vijayawada : The officials of Dr. Narla Tatarao Thermal Power Station (Dr. NTTPS) recently presented a cheque for Rs 4 crore to Dr. Nidhi Meena, the district in-charge collector, to fund development programs in the villages surrounding the power station. This allocation will support initiatives in Kondapalli, Ibrahimpatnam, Elaprolu, Guntupalli, Jupudi, Tummalapalem, Mulapadu, and Kailasapuram, benefiting these communities through various corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities.
Acting on instructions from K.V.N. Chakradhar Babu, Managing Director of APGENCO, Dr. NTTPS officials formally handed over the cheque and requested the district administration to focus on CSR-driven development projects in the area. Proposed activities include tree plantation drives, health and veterinary camps, and other community-oriented programs to improve residents’ quality of life.
The officials also informed the district administration of the measures being implemented to reduce pollution levels around the power station. This includes the scheduled overhaul of three units to optimize efficiency and environmental compliance, with adjustments based on grid demand. This comprehensive approach underscores Dr. NTTPS’s commitment to both community welfare and environmental responsibility, as the power station works to address the needs of the surrounding areas while meeting operational requirements.
