New Delhi : Nidhi Bhasin, a seasoned leader in social development and former CEO of the Nasscom Foundation, has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Digital Green Trust (DGT), an organization dedicated to empowering millions of Indian farmers.
For 17 years, Digital Green Trust has focused on supporting small and marginal farmers across India, reaching over 4.7 million individuals. By leveraging digital technology, DGT promotes sustainable agriculture and aids farmers in adapting to significant changes within the agricultural sector, enhancing their resilience amid global challenges. Bhasin will be based in New Delhi as she steps into her new role.
With more than 25 years of experience in social development, program management, and nonprofit leadership, Bhasin brings extensive expertise to DGT. Before joining, she successfully transformed the Nasscom Foundation, advocating for technology’s role in social good and addressing the digital divide in underserved communities throughout India. Earlier in her career, she spent two decades at the Concern India Foundation, where she led initiatives in education, health, and community development, with a focus on women.
In her new position, Bhasin will oversee a team of over 80 employees at Digital Green Trust, dedicated to training Indian farmers in sustainable agricultural practices through innovative tools like Farmer.Chat, an AI-powered assistant. She envisions significant potential for technology to enhance the livelihoods of millions of farmers in the coming years.
