Muthoot Finance Ltd., India’s largest gold loan non-banking financial company (NBFC), has announced a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) outlay of ₹174.03 crore for FY27, significantly strengthening its commitment to inclusive development, sustainable growth and long-term community welfare across the country. The announcement follows a year of impactful CSR initiatives during FY26, where the company invested ₹106.42 crore, positively touching the lives of nearly 33.7 lakh beneficiaries through programmes focused on healthcare, education, housing, livelihood development, social innovation, community empowerment and sports promotion.
Education continued to remain one of the cornerstones of Muthoot Finance’s CSR strategy, with the company investing in initiatives designed to improve access to quality learning opportunities for students from economically weaker sections. Flagship programmes such as the Muthoot M. George Excellence Awards, Muthoot M. George Higher Education Scholarships and Muthoot Shiksha Jyothi collectively supported around 11,900 students, including first-generation learners and underprivileged youth. Beyond scholarships, the Muthoot Group has established several educational institutions across India, including Sanskara School in Kochi, Muthoot Institute of Technology and Science (MITS), St. George’s School and Paul George Global School in Delhi, the newly launched Kalaivani School in Tamil Nadu and Muthoot Business School in Kochi, reflecting its long-term investment in nurturing future generations.
Healthcare remained another major focus area under the company’s CSR agenda. Through Muthoot Snehasraya and several healthcare outreach programmes, the company benefited more than one lakh individuals during FY26 by supporting access to quality medical treatment, rehabilitation services, preventive healthcare, medical camps and community health interventions. These initiatives aimed to improve healthcare accessibility for vulnerable and underserved communities while strengthening overall public health outcomes.
The company’s flagship housing initiative, Muthoot Aashiyana, continued transforming lives by providing safe and permanent homes to disaster-affected and economically vulnerable families. During FY26, the programme facilitated the handover of houses across multiple states, while since its launch in 2018, it has enabled the construction of over 270 homes, helping families rebuild their lives with dignity, stability and security.
Commenting on the company’s expanding CSR initiatives, George Alexander Muthoot, Managing Director of Muthoot Finance, said the organisation believes sustainable business growth must be accompanied by meaningful social impact. He stated that the company’s FY27 CSR allocation reflects its continued focus on improving healthcare, education, housing, livelihood opportunities and social inclusion while creating long-term value for underserved communities. He added that Muthoot Finance remains committed to expanding initiatives that strengthen communities, improve access to opportunities and contribute to inclusive national development.
Muthoot Finance also continued to support persons with disabilities through The Muthoot Soundscape Project, an initiative providing customised digital hearing aids, rehabilitation support and speech therapy for children with hearing impairment from underprivileged families. During FY26, the programme positively impacted 267 children across Kerala, Hyderabad and Mumbai, enabling better communication and improved quality of life.
Demonstrating its commitment to social inclusion, the company expanded its rehabilitation initiatives for prison inmates and their families. Through Radio Parvaaz, an internal prison radio platform, inmates receive educational content, emotional support and motivational programming aimed at promoting behavioural transformation and rehabilitation. Simultaneously, dedicated child development programmes continue supporting the education, emotional well-being and holistic development of children whose parents are incarcerated, helping them overcome social barriers and build brighter futures.
The company also implemented several grassroots community development programmes addressing local livelihood and social challenges. Initiatives such as Box of Hope supported fisherwomen through livelihood enhancement, while the Maritime Safety Programme strengthened safety awareness among coastal fishing communities in Tamil Nadu. Under Pedal for Progress, bicycles were distributed to tribal and underprivileged students to improve school accessibility and mobility. Additionally, Muthoot Finance has continued supporting Asha Kiran Society’s 100 Villages Non-Communicable Diseases Education and Screening Programme in Odisha since 2022, helping improve awareness and early detection of lifestyle diseases among tribal communities.
Beyond conventional CSR sectors, the company continued investing in India’s emerging sporting talent through its Sports Promotion initiatives. During FY26, Muthoot Finance extended support to promising athletes, including hurdler Kiran K, endurance cyclist Sreenath Lakshmikanth, international roller skater A.A. Abna and specially-abled international gold medallist Sini K. Sebastian, contributing towards youth empowerment and sporting excellence.
Highlighting the broader vision behind these initiatives, George Muthoot George, Deputy Managing Director of Muthoot Finance, said meaningful social impact goes beyond addressing immediate needs and focuses on empowering individuals to achieve long-term self-reliance. He emphasised that the company’s CSR philosophy is centred on creating sustainable opportunities, strengthening community resilience and promoting socio-economic progress through inclusive development.
With a record ₹174.03 crore CSR commitment for FY27, Muthoot Finance aims to further expand its social impact initiatives across India. The increased allocation reinforces the company’s vision of creating lasting value through strategic investments in education, healthcare, housing, livelihood development and community empowerment, while contributing towards building a more inclusive, equitable and sustainable future.
