Bangalore : Crowdfunding platform Milaap has launched a new volunteering initiative, ‘Together For Good’, in honor of Daan Utsav, the annual Festival of Giving.

Daan Utsav began on October 2 and will run until October 8.

In partnership with some of India’s leading NGOs, this program invites compassionate individuals to dedicate their time and efforts to meaningful causes that directly support communities in need. With both in-person and remote volunteering opportunities available, it is accessible to individuals aged 18 and above, both within India and internationally.

Participants can easily explore and register for various volunteering opportunities offered by partner NGOs through a simple, user-friendly interface. Whether it’s supporting children’s palliative care, assisting cancer patients, promoting education, or contributing to environmental welfare, there’s an opportunity for everyone to make a difference.

For over 14 years, Milaap has served as a vital crowdfunding platform, providing essential financial assistance to countless individuals. Throughout this journey, Milaap has cultivated a strong community of generous donors and change-makers, united by a commitment to giving back. Many donors have expressed a desire to extend their support beyond financial contributions, inspiring the creation of Together For Good—a platform that empowers individuals to invest their time and efforts in impactful causes, thereby expanding the spirit of giving in new and meaningful ways. Notably, many beneficiaries of Milaap’s donors are now stepping up as volunteers themselves, fostering a cycle of compassion and support.

“We believe that giving doesn’t always have to be monetary. Donating your time, skills, and energy can be equally transformative. Daan Utsav is a powerful reminder of the impact we can achieve when we come together as a community,” said Anoj Viswanathan, Co-founder of Milaap.

“This Daan Utsav, in collaboration with these incredible NGOs, we aim to simplify the process for individuals to contribute in ways that resonate with them, creating a direct and positive impact in their communities,” he added.

Milaap has partnered with nearly 15 renowned NGOs, each dedicated to distinct causes, to offer a diverse range of volunteering opportunities. These partners include Golden Butterflies Children’s Palliative Care Foundation, Vanavil Trust, Better World Shelter, Sahodaran, Bhumi, MOHAN Foundation, ThinkSharp Foundation, Rotaract Club of Alumni, Arpita Foundation, Cancer Patients Aid Association, Friend For Animal Trust, Team Everest, and Samiksha Foundation.

“Volunteering is the backbone of any NGO. I can’t envision running an organization without the invaluable contributions of volunteers, whether in fundraising, skills, compliance, or beyond. As we grow, the need for dedicated volunteers increases. I believe Milaap’s volunteering program will help bridge the gap by connecting committed individuals, enabling NGOs to scale their operations during this Daan Utsav festival,” said Santosh Phad, Founder of Thinksharp Foundation, one of the collaborating NGOs.

Kathampari Ezhilarasu, Volunteer Manager at Bhumi, another partner NGO, remarked, “There is always a significant need for volunteers across all initiatives. Just a few hours of volunteering can lead to meaningful change in society. This initiative is bridging NGOs and the community by helping secure many volunteer leads, and we truly appreciate Milaap for collaborating with us to run volunteer sourcing campaigns during Daan Utsav.”
