Mumbai, March 28: The Metropolis Foundation, the CSR arm of Metropolis Healthcare Limited, has successfully hosted the Adolescent Reproductive and Sexual Health (ARSH) Conclave in Mumbai, reaffirming its commitment to adolescent health awareness and empowerment.
As part of its flagship CSR initiative, ‘Too Shy to Ask’ (TSTA), the program combines physical outreach through ARSH initiatives and digital engagement via an award-winning mobile app. Over the past three years, the initiative has reached 606 villages and 238 panchayats across Maharashtra and Chennai, directly empowering over 2.2 lakh adolescent girls while indirectly benefiting 1.1 million individuals.
Built on three core pillars—capacity building in reproductive health, community-based advocacy groups (Kishori Manch), and engagement of key influencers—the program fosters awareness and action against social issues such as child marriage, menstrual hygiene, and access to reproductive health education.
The ARSH Conclave brought together over 100 adolescent leaders, NGO representatives, healthcare professionals, and Panchayat members to discuss strategies for strengthening adolescent health programs. Through skits, testimonials, and success stories, participants showcased how young leaders are driving change at the grassroots level.
Recognized for its impact, the initiative has led to remarkable transformations, including preventing child marriages, improving sanitation in schools, and enhancing healthcare access. The program has formed 1,937 Kishori Manchs and developed 1,923 community action plans, reinforcing its role in driving sustainable adolescent health interventions.
Launched in 2017, the ‘Too Shy to Ask’ (TSTA) platform continues to be a trusted source for science-backed, confidential information on adolescent health, gender rights, and nutrition. Available in five languages, with 1.9 lakh app installs, the platform is playing a crucial role in empowering young individuals across India.
Through its sustained efforts and collaboration with NGOs, government bodies, and community organizations, the Metropolis Foundation remains dedicated to fostering a healthier, more informed, and empowered generation of adolescents.
