Hyderabad : To raise awareness about the increasing incidence of breast cancer in India, MEIL (Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Ltd.) and the Sudha Reddy Foundation organized the Pink Power Run 2024, a mega marathon held on Sunday at Gachibowli Stadium in Hyderabad. The event was attended by Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, who inspired participants by emphasizing the significance of health and early detection in the battle against breast cancer.
The Pink Power Run attracted thousands from diverse backgrounds, aiming to dispel myths about breast cancer, promote early detection, and celebrate resilience. Runners participated in various race categories, including 3 km, 5 km, and 10 km, each receiving exclusive race kits, nutritious snacks, and valuable exercise tips.
CM Reddy highlighted the government’s commitment to enhancing healthcare infrastructure for women, calling the event a step toward a healthier future for Telangana. Sudha Reddy, Chairperson of the SR Foundation, reiterated the event’s purpose as a platform to share cancer survivors’ stories and build a supportive community.
In the 10 km race, Love Preet triumphed in the men’s category, while Seema won the women’s category. Cash prizes were awarded to top finishers in both categories. The event also included a Guinness World Record attempt, with participants forming a large pink bird, symbolizing unity and hope in the fight against breast cancer.
Sudha Reddy concluded by thanking everyone involved, including the government, sponsors, and volunteers, for contributing to the event’s success.
