New Delhi : The Indian Foundation for Quality Management (IFQM), established by a consortium of leading Indian companies, is set to host its inaugural symposium on October 15 and 16 at Taj Palace, New Delhi. The event aims to foster discussions on the theme ‘Quality & Innovation to Make India Globally Competitive.’ Key participants include Minister for Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal, prominent figures from the Indian industry such as Venu Srinivasan, N. Chandrasekaran, and Dilip Shanghvi, along with nearly 200 CEOs and CXOs from various sectors, representatives from MSMEs, and about 50 professors and students from educational institutions.
The symposium will also feature global quality and innovation experts, including Dr. Noriaki Kano, Jacques Esculier, and Harold Kroeger, who will lead insightful discussions. Soumitra Bhattacharya, CEO & Director of IFQM, emphasized that achieving the goals of Viksit Bharat requires the Indian economy to enhance its global competitiveness through a collaborative, industry-led approach that prioritizes inclusivity across supply chains and MSMEs.
Key topics to be explored during the two-day event include the current state of global quality standards, future goals for 2030, measurable milestones, and innovative strategies to overcome challenges. The symposium will host over 250 participants from nearly 150 companies, featuring 17 sessions led by more than 40 distinguished speakers from diverse sectors, including Automotive, Defence, Aerospace, Pharma, and IT.
The IFQM, established in 2023, is dedicated to fostering transformative changes across Indian industries by promoting a culture of quality that aligns with global standards. Its mission is to enhance product and service quality, thereby improving Brand India’s reputation. The organization aims to support India’s journey towards becoming a developed nation by 2047, focusing on innovation, excellence, and stakeholder engagement.
