Washington : An Indian-American NGO focused on disability advocacy, based in Los Angeles, has successfully raised $1 million to empower differently-abled individuals in India.

Voice of SAP (VOSAP) secured the funds during an event on September 21, which was attended by prominent philanthropists, dignitaries, volunteers, and donors. The Artesia City Council honored VOSAP’s mission with a Certificate of Recognition, presented by Pro Tem Mayor Ali Sajjad Taj on behalf of Mayor Tony Lima.

During the presentation, VOSAP founder Pranav Desai outlined his Vision 2047, emphasizing the unique opportunity for donors to help differently-abled individuals contribute to India’s economy, aiming for a target of $1 trillion by 2047. He illustrated the potential economic impact, demonstrating how a donation as small as $100 could generate a multiplier effect of up to $10,000.

Desai also introduced “Hitarth,” a project launched in May 2024, which represents VOSAP’s initiative in the healthcare sector in India. Additionally, the NGO is promoting the government program “Nirmaya,” which supports families of individuals with intellectual disabilities by funding social workers to help them access healthcare services valued at up to ₹1 lakh from the Indian government. This innovative approach was well-received by donors.

The event featured a performance by Sparsh Shah, VOSAP’s youth ambassador, whose soulful singing captivated the audience, fostering an atmosphere of compassion and generosity.
