Virginia : The Harvest Foundation, based in Martinsville, Virginia, has announced a significant $12 million commitment towards the construction of the new Martinsville-Henry County Family YMCA.
Situated on a seven-acre plot in the heart of the community, the proposed YMCA will span 60,000 square feet and is projected to cost around $28 million to complete. The facility will feature a fitness center, three full-court gymnasiums, an indoor aquatic center, an elevated indoor walking track, and several group exercise and community rooms.
“The YMCA project has tremendous potential to transform the community and will serve as a cornerstone for revitalizing uptown,” said Harvest Foundation President Kate Keller. “This initiative represents a significant advancement for the growth of Martinsville-Henry County, particularly in revitalizing West End Martinsville, an area that has historically been underserved. We hope this lays the groundwork for future development and beautification efforts, enhancing amenities and improving the quality of life for all residents in this part of the city.”
