Bengaluru, Dec 8 : Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), a Maharatna Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Sports Development Fund (NSDF) and the Sports Authority of India (SAI) to set up the “HAL-SAI High-Performance Centre” in Bengaluru. This initiative, part of HAL’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, is aimed at boosting India’s sports infrastructure and enhancing the country’s global sporting performance.

The signing ceremony was attended by prominent officials, including HAL Chairman and Managing Director D.K. Sunil, Independent Director Divya Gupta, Director (HR) A.B. Pradhan, Joint CEO of TOPS Col. Rakesh Yadav, SAI Regional Director Vishnu Sudhakaran, and Under Secretary of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports Kamkhan Singh, among others.

This state-of-the-art centre will utilize cutting-edge science and technology to improve athletic performance, offering advanced facilities for Anthropometry, Biomechanics, Sports Nutrition, Exercise Physiology, Psychology, Sports Medicine, Physiotherapy, and Strength and Conditioning.

HAL has consistently supported sports development in India through various CSR initiatives. It already operates the HAL-SAI Sports Training Centre in Koraput, Odisha, which focuses on training tribal youth in archery, football, and athletics. Additionally, HAL has established a FIFA-standard football academy in Bengaluru to identify and nurture young talent.

The “HAL-SAI High-Performance Centre” marks a significant milestone in HAL’s commitment to developing sports in India. By providing world-class facilities and fostering excellence, the centre aims to prepare athletes for international competitions, including the Olympics, and contribute to enhancing India’s sporting achievements and national pride.
