New Delhi, Dec 7 : In a groundbreaking collaboration, Grihum Housing Finance Ltd and Yashlok Welfare Foundation have joined forces to promote road safety and sustainability through an innovative CSR initiative. As part of this project, ISI-certified helmets made from recycled ABS plastics were donated to the Pune City Police. This initiative not only addresses road safety but also empowers underprivileged communities, integrates skill development, and fosters environmental conservation.
Helmets with a Purpose
The helmets, manufactured by marginalized individuals, including persons with disabilities, underprivileged women, and unemployed youth, were a product of skill development training provided under the CSR program. By offering these individuals employment opportunities and using recycled plastics, the project tackles plastic waste while creating meaningful livelihoods.
A Multifaceted Initiative
The handover ceremony, held at the Pune City Police Commissioner’s Office, was graced by prominent dignitaries, including Joint Commissioner of Police (Pune City) Ranjan Kumar Sharma, Additional Commissioner of Police Manoj Patil, and Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Amol Zende. The initiative was widely lauded for its holistic approach to community welfare.

Spreading Road Safety Awareness
Through this collaboration, Pune City Police aim to strengthen road safety practices while serving as ambassadors of awareness in the community. Similar contributions have already been made to police forces in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Bengaluru, extending the project’s impact nationwide.
