Kathmandu : The Kashiyana Foundation hosted the ‘Global D-30 Summit‘ in Kathmandu, Nepal’s capital, on Sunday. This event marked the second phase of the D-30 program and focused on de-addiction and disability, bringing together representatives from 30 countries, including Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Naveen Srivastava. Notably, Dushyant Gautam, National General Secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party, addressed the summit, emphasizing the need for a united front against addiction. Sharing moments on X, Gautam expressed his support for the cause.
According to the organizers, the primary objective of the D-30 Summit is to unite 30 nations that are significantly affected by addiction, providing a platform for collaboration and shared solutions. The summit is especially focused on countries where addiction has become a critical issue, as identified by the World Health Organization. This year’s gathering follows the inaugural D-30 summit held in New Delhi in 2023.
The summit also provided an opportunity for young people, medical professionals, and social workers to share insights and solutions for addiction rehabilitation. Through various sessions, participants discussed strategies to address addiction and disability, fostering a collaborative approach to a global health crisis.
