New Delhi, Jan 26 : Dr. Bhim Singh Bhavesh, a social worker and journalist from Bhojpur, Bihar, has been recognized with the prestigious Padma Shri award for his extraordinary contributions to the education and upliftment of Dalit children, particularly those from the marginalized Musahar community. He will also participate in the Republic Day Parade on January 26, 2025.

Honored on Republic Day 2025

On the eve of India’s 76th Republic Day, Dr. Bhavesh was announced as a recipient of the Padma Shri award. Additionally, he has been invited to join the Republic Day Parade at Kartavya Path. This isn’t the first instance of national recognition for his work. In February 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi commended his efforts during the Mann Ki Baat program.

A Lifelong Commitment to Social Work

Dr. Bhim Singh Bhavesh has dedicated over two decades to improving the lives of Dalit children in Bihar. Through his organization, “Nayi Aasha” (New Hope), he has focused on providing educational opportunities, healthcare, and a better future for underprivileged children, particularly from the Musahar community.

Major Achievements

1. Transforming Education for Dalit Children:
– Enrolled over 8,000 Dalit children in schools to ensure access to quality education.
– Established a library to support students, enabling over 120 children to secure National Income-Cum-Merit Scholarships.

2. Supporting Orphans:
– Provided shelter and care for more than 100 orphaned children.
– Assisted with essential documentation and application processes to help these children access services and opportunities.

3. Advancing Healthcare:
– Organized over 100 medical camps, delivering free healthcare services to underserved communities.
– Actively contributed to COVID-19 relief efforts, offering vital support during the pandemic.

Dr. Bhavesh’s work transcends education, focusing on holistic development for marginalized families. His efforts have transformed the lives of thousands in Bhojpur and beyond, setting a remarkable example of grassroots-level impact.
