Punjab, Feb 11 :  Vedanta Power’s Talwandi Sabo Power Limited (TSPL) has launched two major community development initiatives in Village Makha, District Mansa: a Farmer Resource Centre under Project Navi Disha and a Stitching Centre for Rural Women under Project TARA.

The Farmer Resource Centre (Kishan Sewa Kendra) is designed to equip local farmers with modern agricultural techniques, with an emphasis on organic farming and sustainable practices. TSPL has provided essential farming tools, including Mini Rotavators, Chisel Plough Cultivators, Bed Makers, Manual Weeders, Steel Manual Weeders, and Spray Pumps. Additionally, the Centre offers agriculture literature, bio-inputs, vegetable seed kits, and a bio-waste decomposer to help farmers adopt eco-friendly methods and improve crop yields.

Simultaneously, the Stitching Centre for Rural Women aims to empower women with skill development opportunities, fostering financial independence and improved livelihoods. Equipped with industrial sewing machines and interlock machines, the Centre will provide training in stitching techniques, helping women create sustainable income-generating opportunities.

The inauguration event saw the presence of several key dignitaries, including Mr. Gurpreet Singh Banawali, Hon’ble MLA of Sardulgarh; Dr. Harpreet Pal Kaur, Chief Agriculture Officer of District Mansa; Ms. Jaswinder Kaur, DPM, Mansa – PSRLM; and Mr. Sukhvinder Singh, Sarpanch of Makha village. Leadership from TSPL and its NGO partners, The Nabha Foundation and The Ambuja Cement Foundation, also participated, along with farmers and women from Makha and neighboring villages.

The Farmer Resource Centre and Stitching Centre will support farmers and women in securing long-term economic stability while promoting environmentally responsible practices.
