New Delhi, Feb 3 : Nita Ambani, chairperson and founder of the Reliance Foundation, celebrated the Indian Under-19 Women’s cricket team for their unbeaten run and victorious defense of the U19 Women’s T20 World Cup title in Malaysia.

India secured a dominant 9-wicket win against South Africa in the final match at Bayuemas Oval on Sunday, delivering a stellar performance in all areas of the game.

Champions again! Heartiest congratulations to our exceptional Girls in Blue for clinching the U19 Women’s T20 World Cup for the second consecutive year. What an outstanding achievement! Your determination, passion, and talent have made the entire nation proud,” said Nita Ambani. She further added, “You’ve showcased the strength of Indian women, Indian sports, and India itself to the world. Your incredible journeys and inspiring stories will motivate generations to come. Keep shining bright!”

The Indian team’s emphatic win was a contrast to the emotional scene on the South African side, where players were seen in tears after being restricted to a meager 82 runs in the first innings. India’s bowlers laid a strong foundation, followed by an aggressive response from the batters.

Chasing the target, India’s opening stand got off to a quick start with 18 runs in the first two overs. Despite losing G Kamalin in the final over of the powerplay, the team maintained their momentum. Gongadi Trisha (44) and Sanika Chalke (26*) ensured a swift and comfortable chase, securing the win with over eight overs to spare.
