Rae Bareli, Jan 25 : In line with its commitment to social welfare and health improvement under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, NTPC Limited inaugurated the Sankalp De-addiction and Healthcare Centre in Rae Bareli. This initiative is a joint effort by NTPC Limited and the Society for Voluntary Action and Research (SVAR).

The center was officially inaugurated by Rae Bareli’s Additional District Magistrate (ADM), Vishal Kumar Yadav, in the presence of notable dignitaries, including NTPC Unchahar’s Head of Human Resources, Ms. Ruma Dey Sharma, Chief Medical Officer of Jeevan Jyoti Hospital, Dr. Madhu Singh, and SVAR Chairman, Mr. Manoj Shukla. Designed as a 15-bed facility, the center offers free treatment to individuals battling addiction, with a goal of inspiring healthier and more fulfilling lifestyles.

This year-long project focuses on improving the health and quality of life for people in the Rae Bareli district. Speaking at the event, ADM Vishal Kumar Yadav described the initiative as a commendable step towards societal welfare, emphasizing the crucial role it will play in supporting those affected by addiction. Ms. Ruma Dey Sharma highlighted NTPC’s broader mission, stating, “Our responsibility extends beyond power generation to actively contributing to societal well-being. This center will provide a fresh start to those struggling with addiction.”

Equipped with trained healthcare professionals and counselors, the center aims to provide both physical and mental rehabilitation. To further its impact, community awareness campaigns will be launched to educate the public on the importance of de-addiction.

The Sankalp De-addiction Centre is part of NTPC’s broader vision of prioritizing health and well-being across society, underscoring the company’s dedication to driving meaningful social change.
