Banda, Feb 14 : Under the Integrated Village Development Project by Manjari Foundation and HDFC Bank, a four-day regenerative farming camp was held from February 10 to 13, 2025, at the Human Agrarian Center in Barokhar Khurd, Banda, Uttar Pradesh, also known as Prem Ji Ki Bagiya. The initiative aimed to enhance agricultural productivity by educating farmers on sustainable farming practices and innovative farm design.
The event commenced with a prayer, setting a positive tone for the learning sessions. Led by expert facilitator Shekhar Tripathi, the first session focused on the importance of animal husbandry. Tripathi provided detailed insights into livestock management and strategies for determining fair market value for animal products. He further engaged the farmers in interactive discussions, fostering a collaborative learning environment.
One of the highlights was Tripathi’s presentation on farm design models. Using detailed illustrations, he demonstrated how to create a balanced and efficient farm layout. This included strategic placement of fruit-bearing, medicinal, and flowering trees, as well as incorporating ponds and processing units to maximize land use and productivity. The participatory approach encouraged farmers to ask questions, ensuring a thorough understanding of the concepts discussed.
The second session marked the camp’s conclusion, where participants shared their experiences and learnings, reflecting on the transformative impact of the program. Certificates were distributed in the presence of Harendra, Manjari Foundation, recognizing the farmers’ active participation and commitment to implementing regenerative farming techniques.
To commemorate the event, a symbolic chikoo tree was planted at the Human Agrarian Center by Manjari Foundation. The tree planting ceremony, led by Prem Dada Ji and the farmers, not only symbolized growth and sustainability but also concluded the four-day camp on an inspiring and energetic note.
This initiative demonstrates Manjari Foundation and HDFC Bank’s continued commitment to sustainable agricultural development, empowering local farmers with knowledge and tools to enhance productivity while preserving the environment.
