Surat, March 2 : KP Human Development Foundation, the CSR arm of KP Group—a leader in the renewable energy sector—has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Sri Sri Rural Development Programme Trust (SSRDP) to establish skill training centers aimed at equipping young individuals with essential vocational expertise. The MoU was formalized by Dr. Faruk G. Patel, Chairman & MD of KP Group, in the presence of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar ji at an event in Bengaluru attended by a large audience.

This collaboration underscores a shared commitment to addressing the growing demand for skilled professionals in the renewable energy sector. With India’s ambitious “Net Zero” emission target set for 2070 and KP Group’s goal of achieving 10+GW in renewable energy capacity by 2030, both organizations recognize the significant gap in skilled manpower due to a lack of proper vocational training. Together, they have pledged to bridge this gap and enhance employability. Initially, a pilot project will be launched in Gujarat, with plans to expand the model nationwide upon its successful implementation.

Dr. Faruk G. Patel, Chairman and Managing Director of KP Group, emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating, *“At KP Group, we believe in the transformative power of skill development and are actively involved in various initiatives to support it. This partnership with the Sri Sri Rural Development Programme Trust represents a crucial step in empowering India’s youth with the skills necessary to secure employment and build a sustainable future.”*

Mehul Parikh, Trustee of SSRDP, echoed this sentiment, saying, “We are pleased to collaborate with KP Human Development Foundation. Skill development plays a crucial role in driving economic growth. Through this partnership, we aim to provide structured, high-quality training that will develop a skilled workforce, improving employability and fostering social progress.”

Under this MoU, both organizations will jointly establish training centers focused on imparting skills for green jobs, ensuring that youth are well-prepared for the evolving job market. KP Human Development Foundation will set up and maintain industry-standard training labs, act as a knowledge and industry partner, contribute expertise and best practices, and provide financial assistance for operational expenses. It will also facilitate joint certification and support job placements.

In line with its ongoing initiatives, KP Human Development Foundation has already been collaborating with Surat’s renowned SVNIT under the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan to offer renewable energy courses to ITI students, helping them become industry-ready.

SSRDP will oversee the execution and management of training programs, deploy qualified trainers, conduct structured skill development sessions, and offer behavioral training to enhance employability.

KP Human Development Foundation reflects KP Group’s dedication to social responsibility, supporting various initiatives in education, healthcare, and community development to ensure inclusive growth. The foundation has undertaken over 300 CSR activities, including scholarships, healthcare camps, and skill development programs. It has adopted eight educational institutions—five government schools, two private schools, and one college for specially-abled students. To date, the foundation has partnered with more than 30 educational institutions, benefiting over 12,000 students. Additionally, it has developed four libraries for underprivileged students preparing for competitive exams, with three more in the final stages of completion.
