Patna, Feb 12 : Janata Dal United (JDU) has ramped up its criticism of Prashant Kishor and his Jan Suraj Party, alleging that he is running a political party under the disguise of an NGO. JDU spokesperson Neeraj Kumar questioned the party’s financial transparency and funding sources, demanding a detailed investigation.

During a media interaction, Neeraj Kumar stated, “Prashant Kishor is behaving like a ‘restless player’ in politics. I strongly believe he is operating a political party under the pretense of an NGO. I have presented evidence showing multiple companies donating more than their total capital. Many of these firms are based in Telangana, and some don’t even exist. I have made the relevant documents public.”

Concerns Over Financial Transparency

Neeraj Kumar expressed concerns about the organizational structure of the Jan Suraj Party, highlighting the absence of transparency. He noted that the party does not display any photo of its national president, raising questions about its leadership. He further announced plans to approach the Ministry of Corporate Affairs and the Economic Offenses Wing to investigate possible money laundering or misuse of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds.

Claims of Funding Through Fake Companies

Kumar alleged that fake companies are being used to finance the Jan Suraj Party, with these entities supposedly facilitating fellowship programs linked to the party. He questioned the actual source of the funding and pointed out that while Prashant Kishor is publicly seen as the party’s mentor, his name is absent from Election Commission records, creating doubts about the real power behind the organization.

Previous Accusations

This isn’t the first time JDU has targeted Prashant Kishor over financial issues. Earlier, JDU leaders Neeraj Kumar and Ajit Patel accused him of conducting covert financial activities under the cover of political activism.

No Response from Prashant Kishor

As of now, Prashant Kishor and the Jan Suraj Party have not issued any official statement addressing these allegations. However, the ongoing controversy is expected to influence Bihar’s political scenario, and it remains to be seen how Prashant Kishor will counter these claims or if JDU will intensify its criticisms.
