Mumbai, March 5 : In a significant step towards bridging the digital divide in education, Inorbit Mall Vashi, in collaboration with Making The Difference NGO, has set up two fully-equipped computer labs in local government schools. Each lab is fitted with 10 computers, modern furniture, and air-conditioning, creating a conducive learning environment for students who previously had limited access to digital education.
Empowering Students Through Digital Literacy
In today’s technology-driven world, digital literacy is crucial for academic and career success. While private school students often have access to advanced learning tools, many government school students lack basic exposure to computers. This initiative aims to provide them with essential digital skills, ensuring they are not left behind.
“For many students, this is their first experience using a computer. Learning how to operate a system, browse educational resources, and navigate the internet will significantly shape their future,” said Deepak Vishwakarma, President & Founder of Making The Difference NGO.
Bridging the Education Gap
The newly established labs will offer structured digital education programs covering:
– Basic computer operations
– Internet navigation for research and learning
– Digital creativity through graphic design and presentations
– Coding and problem-solving skills
By equipping students with these skills, the initiative ensures they can compete on an equal footing with their private school counterparts, opening up greater educational and career opportunities.
CSR Initiative Driving Educational Transformation
This initiative demonstrates Inorbit Mall Vashi’s commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and highlights the role of businesses in transforming lives through education and technology.
“We believe that technology should be accessible to all students, regardless of their background. These labs provide government school children with the resources they need to learn, grow, and succeed in the digital age,” said Dhiraj Vyas, Mall Head, Inorbit Mall Vashi.
This collaboration marks a key step toward digital inclusion, ensuring that underprivileged students gain the necessary skills for a tech-driven world. With increasing interest from other schools, Inorbit Mall Vashi and Making The Difference NGO plan to expand the initiative, reaching more students and creating lasting impact through digital education.
