New Delhi, Feb 5 : The Embassy of India in Bamako, Mali, has announced the India-Africa Maitri Scholarship Scheme for the academic year 2025-26. This prestigious program, formerly known as the Africa Scholarship Scheme, offers 15 scholarships to Malian nationals. Funded by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), the scholarships aim to support undergraduate, postgraduate, and Ph.D. programs in select Indian universities.
Scholarship Highlights:
1. Application Process:
– Applications can be submitted online through the A2A ICCR portal at (https://a2ascholarships.iccr.gov.in).
– The portal will open on 20th February 2025, and the deadline for submissions is 30th April 2025.
2. Eligibility Criteria:
– For undergraduate and postgraduate courses, applicants must be aged 18-40 years as of 1st July 2025.
– For Ph.D. programs, the age limit is 50 years.
– A valid passport for the duration of the course is mandatory for eligibility.
3. Course Selection and Admission:
– Applicants can choose up to five universities/institutes in order of preference.
– Admission is subject to the eligibility criteria set by the universities. Students are advised to visit university websites for detailed information on courses, eligibility, and other requirements.
– Relevant documents, including medical certificates confirming physical and mental well-being, must be submitted along with the application.
4. Documentation Requirements:
– Applications will not be accepted without English translations if documents are in another language.
– Incomplete applications are subject to rejection.
– Students should ensure all relevant certificates and documents are attached.
5. Courses Not Covered:
– Certain programs, including Medical/Para-medical (e.g., Nursing, Physiotherapy, Anesthesia), Fashion, Law (BA LLB), and integrated postgraduate courses like B.Sc. (5 years) and M.Sc. (5 years), are excluded from the scholarship scheme.
