Sambalpur, Feb 24 : Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Hon’ble Union Minister of Education, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, honored Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) for its impactful efforts in combating Tuberculosis (TB) and supporting marginalized communities in Odisha’s Angul district.

At a ceremonial event in Angul, Shri Uday Anant Kaole, Chairman-cum-Managing Director of MCL, received a certificate of appreciation in the presence of Shri Rudranarayan Pany, MP Dhenkanal, Shri Keshav Rao, Director (Personnel) MCL, Shri Abdaal M Akhtar, Collector Angul, and other dignitaries and senior officials.

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, MCL has implemented various measures to curb TB in the district. The company has provided food baskets to 1,016 TB patients and 254 families to improve nutrition and overall health. Additionally, a dedicated TB-awareness van was launched to educate communities on early diagnosis, treatment, and prevention across Pallahada, Talcher, and Kaniha blocks.

This initiative aligns with the Government of India’s mission to eliminate TB by 2025, reinforcing MCL’s commitment to enhancing public health and strengthening community well-being through collaborative efforts.
