New Delhi, March 5 : Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has called upon citizens to actively support the welfare of soldiers and their families, emphasizing that it is the national duty of every individual. Speaking at the Armed Forces Flag Day Corporate Social Responsibility (AFFD CSR) Conclave in New Delhi, he praised the unwavering dedication of India’s soldiers, who endure challenging conditions to safeguard the nation. He reiterated the government’s commitment to national security and the well-being of armed forces personnel, highlighting the collective responsibility of the country to support them.

Singh stressed that Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is more than just a statutory 2% contribution—it represents a deeper emotional connection with the brave soldiers and their families. Addressing corporate leaders, he urged them to ensure that their contributions create lasting satisfaction and happiness beyond financial balance sheets. He also reaffirmed the government’s efforts to enhance private sector participation in the defence industry, stating that achieving the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat requires collaborative efforts from all stakeholders.

The Defence Minister commended corporate houses for their generous donations to the AFFD Fund and honored top CSR donors at the event. He expressed confidence that with increased private sector involvement, India is on track to become one of the top three global economies by 2027. The Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare under the Ministry of Defence continues to work towards the welfare and rehabilitation of war widows, dependents of fallen soldiers, and ex-servicemen, offering financial assistance for education, medical needs, and other essential support.
