New Delhi, Feb 10 : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Nishikant Dubey raised a major concern in Parliament on Monday regarding USAID (United States Agency for International Development) funds in India. He alleged that several organizations and individuals in the country have received money through USAID and called for an investigation into whether these funds were used to weaken the nation’s integrity. Dubey demanded that the government thoroughly examine the matter and ensure that any individuals or institutions found guilty face legal action.
During his address in the Zero Hour session, Dubey accused the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation of financial irregularities, questioning whether it had received ₹5,000 crore from George Soros‘ Open Society Foundation. He linked USAID funding to efforts to destabilize governments worldwide, citing former U.S. President Donald Trump’s decision to shut down USAID upon taking office. According to Dubey, the data on countries receiving financial support through USAID is alarming, and the implications for national security are significant.
The BJP leader further claimed that the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation has close ties with George Soros’ organization and called for an investigation into whether USAID funds were used to divide India. He also questioned whether Sam Pitroda had received money through this channel. Additionally, Dubey alleged that the same organization had funded the Taliban, financially supported efforts to end Nepal’s Hindu nation status under the Manmohan Singh-led government, and backed anti-India activities. His speech triggered loud protests from Congress MPs, who attempted to counter his statements, but were stopped by the presiding officer, Sandhya Rai.
