New Delhi, March 6 : As part of its commitment to women’s empowerment, the Adani Foundation celebrated over 1,000 ‘Lakhpati Didis’ at a special event in Mundra, Kutch, Gujarat, ahead of International Women’s Day 2025. The foundation has been actively working in Kutch and beyond to enhance the socio-economic conditions of women, promoting self-reliance, skill development, and entrepreneurship opportunities.
Reaffirming its dedication to a gender-inclusive workforce, the foundation also recognized the contributions of 614 women employees at Adani Solar, who have been supported in diverse roles across technical, engineering, HR, manufacturing, and production departments. Additionally, the foundation has helped over 850 women gain financial independence by strengthening their entrepreneurial skills.
Manisha Chandra, Commissioner of Rural Development and Secretary to the Government of Gujarat, applauded the initiative, stating that empowering women at the grassroots level inspires future generations. Pankti Shah, CSR Head, Adani Foundation (Gujarat), highlighted the need for family, community, and corporate support in driving gender equality. The event also showcased Adani Solar’s women-friendly workplace infrastructure, including locker rooms, canteens, dedicated transport services, and security personnel, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for female employees.
