Mumbai, March 26: Charusat’s Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) and Women’s Development Cell (WDC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ahmedabad-based NGO ‘Stree Chetna’ on March 20. The agreement aims to foster mutual collaboration through advisory and consultancy services in defined areas.
The signing event was attended by Madhuben Patel, Joint Minister of the Education Board, along with Charusat Registrar Dr. Atul Patel, Dr. Mrinali Patel (Chairperson – ICC), Dr. Gayatri Dave (Chairperson – WDC), Nisha Dave (Member Secretary – ICC & Member – WDC), and Utpala Mehta (Member Secretary – WDC).
Representing Stree Chetna, key attendees included Shailaja Andhe (All India President – Bharatiya Stree Shakti & President – Stree Chetna, Gujarat), Neepa Shukla (State Secretary – Stree Chetna), Charuta Piplapure (State Treasurer – Stree Chetna), and Jyoti Gadkare (Secretary – Mahila Chetna).
The MoU focuses on providing strategic consultancy services, organizing workshops and conferences on various women-centric issues, and offering counseling services for hostel wardens and female students. Under this collaboration, Charusat University will conduct awareness sessions and training programs on gender sensitization, prevention of sexual harassment, reproductive health, nutrition, women’s safety, and stress management.
Additionally, initiatives will be launched to promote physical and mental well-being while preserving cultural heritage. Stree Chetna, an Ahmedabad-based women’s organization affiliated with Bharatiya Stree Shakti, actively works towards women’s empowerment, health, livelihood, and safety awareness.
