Gurugram, April 1: The Mosaic Company (“Mosaic”), The Mosaic Company Foundation for Sustainable Food Systems (“The Foundation”), and the S M Sehgal Foundation (“Sehgal Foundation”) marked the tenth annual Mosaic Company Foundation Awards for Plant Nutrition Research with a prestigious ceremony at Le Méridien, Gurugram.

These awards honor outstanding contributions to scientific research, outreach, and innovation in plant nutrition—an essential field driving advancements in sustainable food systems.

Recognizing Excellence in Plant Nutrition Research

The awards acknowledge exceptional individuals whose work is shaping the future of agriculture:

  • Outstanding Doctoral Research Award – Recognizing originality and significant contributions to plant nutrition research.

  • Young Scientist Award – Honoring innovation, outreach, and research in plant nutrition while fostering collaboration within the scientific community.

This year’s awardees:

  • Dr. Abhilasha TripathiOutstanding Doctoral Research Award for Women

  • Dr. Dibyendu ChatterjeeYoung Scientist Award

  • Dr. Sandeep BedwalOutstanding Doctoral Research Award

Each awardee received a certificate, gold medal, blazer, and a monetary prize.

Distinguished Guests and Keynote Addresses

The event was graced by Dr. Trilochan Mohapatra, Chairperson of the Protection of Plant Varieties and Farmers’ Rights Authority (PPVFRA) and Former Secretary of the Department of Agricultural Research and Education, who congratulated the winners and commended the initiative’s decade-long contribution to agricultural research.

Mr. Robin Edwin, Managing Director, Mosaic India Pvt. Ltd., emphasized Mosaic’s commitment to supporting agricultural scientists who drive innovation in plant nutrition.

Mr. Bruce Bodine highlighted the urgency of food security challenges, stating, “Now more than ever, we need innovators—like the researchers recognized today—to develop technologies and practices that help feed the world sustainably.”

Ms. Anjali Makhija, Trustee & CEO, S M Sehgal Foundation, spoke about the long-standing Krishi Jyoti partnership, which has positively impacted nearly 800,000 rural individuals across 273 villages in seven states. She reaffirmed the organizations’ commitment to sustainable agriculture and community development.
