Mumbai, Dec 26 : Asset Reconstruction Company (India) Ltd. (Arcil) has introduced two groundbreaking initiatives to enhance educational infrastructure in rural government schools in Dahanu taluka, Palghar district. As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, the projects were implemented in partnership with Kokan Kala Va Shikshan Vikas Sanstha and Santhwana Trust. The initiatives aim to improve sanitation facilities and provide solar energy solutions to schools in the region.

One of the projects focuses on the Savate Zilla Parishad School, which accommodates 343 students (185 boys and 158 girls). Previously, the school struggled with inadequate sanitation facilities, posing significant health risks and negatively impacting attendance, particularly for female students. The renovated and newly built toilet facilities are expected to improve hygiene, boost attendance rates, and create a more comfortable learning environment. Additionally, the project includes menstrual hygiene management through the installation of a sanitary napkin vending machine, addressing a critical barrier to education for female students.

Arcil’s second initiative involves installing solar energy systems at five Zilla Parishad schools in Dahanu. This effort ensures reliable electricity access, enabling schools to enhance their educational offerings by powering computers, fans, and lighting. By reducing dependence on conventional energy sources, the project promotes environmental sustainability and a better learning environment.

During the inauguration ceremony, Arcil CEO and MD Pallav Mohapatra emphasized the significance of these initiatives, stating, “Investing in education and infrastructure is vital for empowering our youth and building resilient communities. By improving sanitation and providing sustainable energy solutions, we are creating a brighter future for these children.”

These projects go beyond infrastructure improvements, fostering community involvement to ensure long-term sustainability. Local communities, guided by Kokan Kala Va Shikshan Vikas Sanstha, are actively engaged in maintaining the new facilities, cultivating a sense of ownership and responsibility.
