Amritsar: AGI Infra Ltd, a leading real estate company, has successfully completed its afforestation project, creating two ‘Guru Nanak Sacred Forests’ at its residential projects on 66ft Road. This initiative is part of the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts.

The project, spanning over one acre, utilized the Miyawaki method to promote rapid tree growth. A total of 10,236 saplings from 43 native tree species in Punjab, many of which are endangered, were planted. This makes AGI Infra Ltd the first real estate company in the region to undertake such a large-scale afforestation effort within its developments.

In collaboration with the EcoSikh Foundation, AGI Infra Ltd Managing Director, Dr. Sukhdev Singh, and other officials marked the final day of planting. Dr. Singh emphasized the importance of environmental preservation alongside real estate development and highlighted the need to restore ecosystems and combat global warming.

During the event, a book titled ‘Punjab De Gunakari Naino Jangal’ by Jasbir Watanwali was presented to the EcoSikh Foundation, providing insights into the unique characteristics and uses of the tree species planted in the forests.
