Chandrapur : The Adani Foundation will assume management of Mount Carmel Convent School in Ghugus, Maharashtra, following a government resolution that transfers oversight of nine schools.
Mumbai: The Adani Foundation, which has a strong foothold in various infrastructure sectors in India and Maharashtra, is set to take over the management of a private school in Ghugus, located in the Chandrapur district of Maharashtra, through the Adani Foundation.
On Friday, the school education department issued a government resolution (GR) to facilitate the transfer of management for several schools in the state. Among the significant decisions was the transfer of Mount Carmel Convent School to the Adani Foundation based in Ahmedabad.
This self-financed school offers education from class 1 to class 12. The management transition to the Adani Foundation is expected to occur within the next 15 days.
“The proposal to transfer management of Mount Carmel Convent High School, operated by the Carmel Education Society, has been approved with specific terms and conditions,” the GR states.
According to these conditions, the Adani Foundation must maintain the minimum student enrollment requirements and take full responsibility for both teaching and non-teaching staff. There will be no alterations to the school’s existing approval conditions. The order also mandates that the Adani Foundation adhere to all relevant regulations concerning the school, its staff, and students.
The school education department has cautioned that it reserves the right to revoke the management transfer if any complaints arise regarding rule violations or breaches of staff service conditions.
