New Delhi : Samsung has revealed the winners of the third edition of its flagship CSR initiative, ‘Solve for Tomorrow,’ in collaboration with the Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer (FITT), IIT Delhi, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, and the United Nations in India.
The winning team, Eco Tech Innovator from Golaghat, Assam, presented a solution focused on ensuring equitable access to safe drinking water and sanitation. Meanwhile, METAL from Udupi, Karnataka, developed a technology for arsenic removal from groundwater, as noted in an official release.
Samsung Southwest Asia President and CEO JB Park, along with United Nations Resident Coordinator in India Shombi Sharp, presented certificates and trophies to the winning teams.
“Through our flagship CSR initiative, we strive to empower young innovators by equipping them with the tools, mentorship, and opportunities to tackle pressing challenges within their communities and the environment,” said JB Park. A total of ten teams, comprising 22 students, were selected for the Grand Finale, where they pitched ideas focused on ‘Community and Inclusion’ and ‘Environment and Sustainability,’ showcasing prototypes to a jury that included members from IIT Delhi, MeitY, and Samsung R&D.
