Bengaluru, Feb 22 : The Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation (KPTCL) is set to establish a theme park in Bengaluru, utilizing funds from its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, officials announced on Friday.
State Energy Minister K J George and Forest, Ecology, and Environment Minister Eshwar Khandre laid the foundation stone for the project.
Speaking at the event, George stated that the theme park would be developed near the KPTCL station in the 5th Block of HBR Layout, with an estimated budget of ₹4.65 crore.
George emphasized that the park would not only serve as a recreational space but also as a center for learning and community engagement. It will feature a training center, spaces for rural games, an open-air theatre, walking paths, an open gym, drinking water facilities, and public restrooms.
The Energy Minister urged officials and contractors to uphold high-quality standards in executing the project.
In addition to this initiative, George and Khandre reviewed the development plans for Hennur Biodiversity Park. According to the Energy Minister’s Office, the park, located in the Sarvagnanagar Assembly constituency, is set for a complete transformation at an estimated cost of ₹2.75 crore. The forest department will contribute ₹2 crore, while ₹75 lakh will be allocated from CSR funds.
As part of the development, the ministers directed officials to plant unique species of flora, labeling them with scientific names to provide an educational experience for visitors. They also instructed the installation of clean drinking water facilities, toilets, and walking paths to enhance the overall experience at the park.
