New Delhi, Feb 21 : The National Workshop on Fast-Tracking & Reporting of SDG Progress in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, commenced with experts sharing valuable insights on driving sustainable development. The event set the stage for a collaborative approach to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by enhancing data-driven governance, fostering innovation, and strengthening multi-stakeholder engagement.

Key speakers emphasized critical aspects of SDG implementation. Manoj Ahuja, Chief Secretary, Government of Odisha, highlighted the importance of robust data systems for effective governance, while Anu Garg, Development Commissioner & ACS, underscored Odisha’s commitment to SDG-driven policies. Angela Lusigi, UNDP RR, praised India’s leadership in SDG localization, and Ulrike Reviere, Country Director, GIZ, called for inclusive and innovative action to accelerate progress.

With participation from 25 States and Union Territories, key ministries, international agencies, and civil society organizations, India reaffirmed its dedication to achieving SDGs. The workshop fostered dialogue and collaboration, reinforcing the nation’s resolve to implement impactful strategies, ensure effective monitoring, and drive sustainable development at all levels.
