Surat, Feb 15 : In a heartfelt gesture symbolising care and responsibility, Solex Energy Limited (NSE: SOLEX), one of India’s leading solar brands, organised a Helmet Distribution Drive on Valentine’s Day. Titled “A Perfect Gift for Your Loved Ones, Take Care of Their Life,” the initiative highlights the company’s commitment to road safety and aligns with the Surat Police’s increased enforcement of helmet usage, set to take effect on February 15, 2025.

The event was graced by prominent dignitaries, including Shri Anupam Singh Gahlaut, IPS (Commissioner of Police, Surat); Shri Raghavendra Vatsa, IPS (Joint Commissioner of Police, Crime & Traffic); Smt. Amita Vanani (Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic); and Shri Chetan Shah (Chairman & Managing Director, Solex Energy), among others. Their presence underscored the importance of road safety and responsible commuting in Surat. Speaking at the event, Chetan Shah emphasised, “At Solex, we believe that true care extends beyond the workplace. By providing helmets, we aim to cultivate a culture of responsible commuting. On this day of love, we also remember the sacrifices of the 40 CRPF personnel who lost their lives in the Pulwama attack on February 14, 2019. Their sacrifice reminds us of the value of life and our shared responsibility to protect it.”

Surat Police Commissioner Anupam Singh Gahlaut stressed the critical role of helmets in preventing road fatalities, saying, “Road safety is a shared responsibility. Wearing a helmet isn’t just about following rules; it’s about valuing lives. We must make helmet-wearing a habit and follow traffic rules to ensure safer roads for everyone.” This initiative is a part of Solex Energy’s broader commitment to sustainability, corporate responsibility, and employee well-being, reinforcing its dedication to safety on and off the roads.

With over 300 road fatalities reported in Gujarat in 2024 alone, the Surat Police have ramped up enforcement to improve road safety. Solex Energy fully supports this initiative and urges all two-wheeler riders to wear helmets consistently to protect themselves and their loved ones.
