New Delhi, Feb 13 : Nasscom Foundation, in partnership with MathCo, a global leader in Enterprise AI and Analytics, has launched the Data Annotation Skill Development Program aimed at empowering neurodivergent youth. This initiative focuses on enhancing employability by equipping participants with specialized skills in data annotation—a key capability in the rapidly evolving fields of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML).

Program Highlights:

– Empowering 50 Neurodivergent Youth: The program aims to train 50 participants in data annotation, a highly sought-after skill in AI and ML.
– Holistic Development Approach: In addition to technical skills, the training includes soft skills development, mentorship, and confidence-building sessions to enhance workplace readiness and long-term career success.
– Inclusive Employment Opportunities: A significant focus is on creating employment opportunities for neurodivergent individuals, supporting a diverse and inclusive workforce.

The initiative goes beyond training by offering strong post-placement support to help organizations maintain a supportive and inclusive work environment. This approach not only promotes diversity but also aids career advancement and job retention for neurodivergent employees.

Launch Event Celebrates Inclusivity:

The program was officially launched on February 12, 2025, at MathCo’s Bangalore office, emphasizing the potential of neurodivergent individuals in the corporate sector. Over 75 people attended, including the MathCo team led by Aditya Kumbakonam, COO and Cofounder, and the Nasscom Foundation team led by Roy C Thomas, along with representatives from Orchvate, program beneficiaries, and their families.

 – Jyoti Sharma, CEO of Nasscom Foundation, highlighted the organization’s commitment to creating empowering environments, stating, “Neurodivergent individuals bring unique strengths that drive workplace innovation. This initiative aligns with our vision of building inclusive and sustainable workplaces.”
– Aditya Kumbakonam, COO and Cofounder of MathCo, emphasized the importance of continuous learning, expressing confidence that participants will grow and adapt as they progress in their careers.

Comprehensive Training and Industry Certifications:

To meet the specific needs of the neurodivergent community, the program is designed in collaboration with Orchvate, experts in coaching neurodivergent youth. It will be conducted in two phases, each with 25 participants, offering:
– Specialized Data Annotation Training: Focused on tagging and labeling data for AI models, a critical skill for enhancing AI systems’ accuracy across industries.
– Industry-Recognized Certifications: Participants will earn certifications to boost their career prospects in the tech industry.

The program aims to secure internships and job placements for at least 60% of the participants in the IT and ITES sectors by leveraging strong industry connections. Nasscom Foundation will also provide ongoing mentorship and conduct sensitization sessions for employers, fostering inclusive and supportive workplaces.
