New Delhi, Jan 23 : The nation proudly celebrates the 21st anniversary of a historic achievement, observed as Flag Day. This momentous occasion marks the landmark legal victory on January 23, 2004, spearheaded by Naveen Jindal, the president of the Flag Foundation of India and Member of Parliament from Kurukshetra, Haryana. This victory affirmed the constitutional right of every Indian citizen to hoist the national flag, the Tiranga, every day, under the fundamental right to freedom of speech and expression.

To honor this transformative event, Naveen Jindal inaugurated a special exhibition today at Central Park, Connaught Place – Inner Circle. The event, organized by the Flag Foundation of India, features a monumental national flag on display, instilling pride among attendees.

Speaking at the inauguration, Jindal said, “For me, the Indian National Flag is not just a piece of cloth; it represents our unity, pride, and identity as a nation. It embodies the sacrifices of our freedom fighters and reflects the core values of justice, liberty, and equality. When an individual hoists the tricolor at their home or workplace, they rise above their sect, political affiliations, cultural differences, and regional identities, uniting as Indians under this symbol of national pride. The Tiranga is the soul of our nation and the heartbeat of every Indian. It stands for freedom, national honor, and inspiration to contribute to our country.”

The centerpiece of the celebration is a unique exhibition curated by renowned photographer Vijay S. Jodha. Recognized by the Limca Book of Records as India’s largest photographic tribute to the Tiranga, the exhibition, titled “A Photographic Odyssey of the Tricolor,” showcases over 1,000 stunning photographs capturing the flag in diverse settings across the country. These images celebrate India’s rich diversity, creativity, and unity while honoring the enduring spirit of the Tiranga.

The event also commemorates the 75th anniversary of the Indian Constitution in 2025, reinforcing the nation’s commitment to the values enshrined within it. This dual celebration highlights the legal and symbolic significance of the national flag, a powerful emblem of India’s freedom and unity.
