New Delhi, 18 September 2026: Omega Seiki Mobility (OSM) has announced the initiation of the design and development of a specially engineered electric vehicle (EV) for persons with disabilities. Announced on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, the initiative reflects the company’s stated commitment to building an inclusive, accessible and sustainable mobility ecosystem.
The proposed EV will adopt a human-centric design approach, with the specific mobility requirements of persons with disabilities forming the foundation of the development process. The vehicle is expected to focus on accessibility, safety, comfort, convenience and ease of use, with the broader objective of supporting greater independence and dignity in everyday mobility.

The initiative has been dedicated to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his birthday as a tribute to the vision of inclusive development and sustainable mobility. OSM plans to draw on its experience in electric vehicle engineering and manufacturing to explore a Made-in-India mobility solution aimed at contributing to more accessible transportation.
As part of the development process, the company plans to understand the requirements of potential users and engage with relevant experts and stakeholders. According to OSM, this approach is intended to ensure that the vehicle’s design is informed by practical user needs and addresses the everyday mobility requirements of persons with disabilities.
The initiative marks the beginning of the vehicle’s development journey, with further details on the vehicle’s specifications, technology, launch timeline and commercial availability yet to be announced.
