CSRBOX and the Finance Department, Government of West Bengal, have entered into a strategic collaboration aimed at strengthening the state’s CSR ecosystem and aligning corporate social responsibility initiatives with key development priorities.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was exchanged between Shri Khalid Aizaz Anwar, IAS, Secretary, Finance Department, Government of West Bengal, and Bhomik Shah, Founder & CEO, CSRBOX, in the presence of Shri Prabhat Kumar Mishra, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, along with senior government officials and CSRBOX representatives.
The partnership seeks to create stronger connections between government departments, corporates, PSUs, philanthropic organisations and development institutions, enabling CSR investments to address priority sectors and geographical needs across West Bengal.
As part of the collaboration, a CSR Projects Facilitation Unit (CPFU) will serve as a knowledge and coordination platform. It will help identify CSR opportunities, facilitate interactions between stakeholders, support knowledge sharing and improve coordination around development priorities.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Prabhat Kumar Mishra said that better alignment of CSR resources with the state’s development priorities could help create greater impact. He highlighted the need for stronger coordination and effective matchmaking between government departments and companies whose CSR priorities align with state requirements.
Bhomik Shah said the partnership presents an opportunity to build stronger institutional linkages and enable more meaningful corporate participation in West Bengal’s development journey.
The collaboration is expected to contribute towards a more coordinated, responsive and impact-oriented CSR ecosystem, with a focus on meaningful partnerships and sustainable development outcomes.
