Adani Infra (India) Ltd, a promoter group entity of Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL), has increased its stake in the renewable energy company by acquiring 1.03% equity through a block deal worth ₹2,380 crore.
According to data available on the National Stock Exchange (NSE), Adani Infra purchased 1.7 crore shares of AGEL at an average price of ₹1,400 per share.
Stake Transfer Within Promoter Group
The shares were acquired from Ardour Investment Holding Ltd, another promoter entity of Adani Green Energy, which sold an equal number of shares through the block transaction.
Following the deal:
- Adani Infra’s stake increased from 1.31% to 2.34%
- Ardour Investment Holding’s stake declined from 5.04% to 4.01%
Market participants noted that the transaction was an intra-promoter transfer and did not result in any change in the company’s overall promoter shareholding.
Second Major Stake Purchase in Two Months
The latest acquisition comes less than two months after Adani Infra acquired 2.15 crore shares (1.31%) in Adani Green Energy from Ardour Investment Holding for approximately ₹3,246 crore through open market transactions in June.
The consecutive stake purchases indicate continued promoter-level restructuring within the Adani Group while maintaining overall promoter ownership in the renewable energy company.
AGEL Shares End Higher
Following the transaction, Adani Green Energy shares gained 1.48%, closing at ₹1,415.60 on the National Stock Exchange.
Adani Green Energy remains one of India’s largest renewable energy companies, with an expanding portfolio of utility-scale solar, wind and hybrid energy projects supporting the country’s clean energy transition.
