As corporate social responsibility (CSR) spending in India enters its second decade under the Companies Act, policymakers, corporate leaders, regulators and social sector experts will come together at Sathya Sai Grama, Muddenahalli, near Bengaluru, on July 16-17 for the CSR Conclave 2026. Organised by the One World One Family Mission, the two-day event will revolve around the theme “Reforming CSR for a Viksit Bharat”, with discussions aimed at transforming CSR from a compliance-driven obligation into a strategic tool for national development.
The conclave comes at a time when India’s annual CSR spending has crossed ₹30,000 crore, with companies increasingly focusing on measurable social impact rather than simply meeting statutory requirements. Deliberations will centre on improving the deployment, governance and impact measurement of CSR investments while aligning corporate initiatives with India’s long-term development priorities.
The inaugural session will feature prominent leaders including S. Ramadorai, former CEO of Tata Consultancy Services and Chairman of the CSR Conclave, Vineet Nayar, Founder-Chairman of Sampark Foundation, and Sadguru Sri Madhusudan Sai, Founder of the One World One Family Mission. A comprehensive white paper outlining recommendations to strengthen India’s CSR ecosystem will also be released during the event.
The conclave will host four high-level panel discussions covering some of the most important emerging issues in the CSR landscape. Experts will examine the potential of the Social Stock Exchange as a platform for channeling CSR investments and supporting social enterprises. Another session will explore how the Indian diaspora can complement domestic CSR efforts through structured philanthropy and contribute more actively to nation-building.
Additional discussions will focus on the growing importance of impact measurement, governance standards and CSR ratings, as well as the need to evaluate corporate social investments through measurable economic and developmental outcomes rather than expenditure alone.
The event will bring together representatives from leading organisations, including SEBI, Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC, Allcargo Logistics, Azim Premji Investments, Karkinos Healthcare, the Gates Foundation, IndianOil, Tata Hitachi, HSBC India, Volvo Group India, and several other corporate and development institutions.
Beyond the conference sessions, delegates will visit the healthcare, education and nutrition facilities at Sathya Sai Grama to observe community development initiatives firsthand. The first day will conclude with the Viksit Bharat CSR Leadership Awards, followed by an interaction with Sadguru Sri Madhusudan Sai and a networking session. The conclave will conclude with a summary of key recommendations and a roadmap for strengthening India’s CSR framework in the years ahead.
With CSR evolving into a major contributor to India’s development agenda, the conclave is expected to provide valuable insights into making corporate social investments more transparent, accountable and outcome-oriented.
