Jaipur, 11 July: In a major boost to sustainable agriculture, Manjari Foundation has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department of Agriculture, Government of Rajasthan, under the ‘Rising Rajasthan’initiative to promote Avartansheel Kheti (Regenerative Agriculture) and natural farming practices. The agreement was formally signed and exchanged by Narendra Kumar Goyal, Agriculture Commissioner, Government of Rajasthan, paving the way for wider adoption of climate-resilient farming practices across the state.
The partnership will be implemented across 13 blocks in five districts of Rajasthan, focusing on improving soil health, restoring ecological balance, conserving natural resources, and enhancing the livelihoods of thousands of smallholder farmers. The initiative aims to reduce dependence on chemical-based farming while encouraging environmentally sustainable and economically viable agricultural practices.

Speaking on the occasion, Sanjay Kumar, Founder & Executive Director, Manjari Foundation, said, “This partnership marks an important milestone in our commitment to promoting sustainable and regenerative agriculture in Rajasthan. By working closely with the Department of Agriculture, we aim to empower smallholder farmers with climate-resilient farming practices that improve soil health, enhance livelihoods, and build a more sustainable agricultural future. Together, we can create a model of environmentally responsible farming that benefits both farmers and future generations.”
With over a decade of experience in rural development, Manjari Foundation has been working extensively to strengthen farmers’ livelihoods through sustainable agriculture, women’s empowerment, producer collectives, and climate-resilient farming models. Through this collaboration, the Foundation will work closely with the Agriculture Department to expand the adoption of regenerative farming practices, build farmers’ capacities, and promote long-term agricultural sustainability across the project areas.

The partnership reflects a shared commitment between the Government of Rajasthan and Manjari Foundation to create a greener, more resilient agricultural ecosystem. By combining institutional support with grassroots implementation, the initiative is expected to improve farm productivity, protect natural resources, and contribute to a sustainable rural economy while supporting the state’s vision of environmentally responsible agricultural growth.
