Dubai, Dec 25 : The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF) has successfully concluded the 12th edition of the ‘Bil Arabi‘ initiative, a flagship campaign aimed at promoting the use of the Arabic language in daily life and digital platforms, particularly among the youth.
Launched annually on World Arabic Language Day, observed on December 18, the initiative saw widespread public participation through its interactive events celebrating Arabic language and culture. Activities were held in bustling shopping hubs across the UAE, including City Centre Mirdif and Etihad Mall in Dubai, City Centre Al Zahia in Sharjah, and City Centre Ajman. Beyond the UAE, the initiative extended its reach with events in Bahrain, Egypt, the United Kingdom, Kazakhstan, and Pakistan.
The campaign, widely promoted on social media using the hashtag (#bl`rby), included a variety of creative events designed to engage audiences and promote the richness of the Arabic language.
Jamal bin Huwaireb, CEO of MBRF, highlighted the initiative’s success in strengthening the Arab knowledge identity and fostering a deep connection with the Arabic language over the years. He noted that the most recent edition achieved remarkable creative milestones, showcasing innovative activities and events that integrated the Arabic language into everyday life and digital interactions.
“We are deeply proud of the ‘Bil Arabi’ initiative’s ability to inspire younger generations to embrace the Arabic language for creative expression and communication in both social media and daily contexts. The campaign highlights the vitality, adaptability, and enduring relevance of Arabic in meeting the demands of modern times and fostering human creativity,” said Jamal bin Huwaireb.
He also expressed gratitude to the partners and sponsors of ‘Bil Arabi 2024,’ emphasizing that their support has been instrumental in elevating the Arabic language’s prominence on the global stage. Such collaborations, he added, reflect broader efforts to preserve the linguistic and cultural heritage of the Arab world.
