New Delhi : A leading digital transformation solutions company, has received the Mahatma Award for CSR Excellence for the third consecutive year, highlighting its steadfast commitment to making a significant impact on communities through its CSR initiatives. At the Delhi ceremony, Ms. Smita Sharma, Global Program Manager-CSR at UST, was honored with the ‘Mahatma Award 2024 for Young Change Makers.’ The ‘Mahatma Award’ recognizes individuals and organizations that utilize their resources, expertise, and talent to effect positive change for the greater good. Presented by the Aditya Birla Group on Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary, the award acknowledged UST’s extensive initiatives in education, health, livelihood, environment, and disaster relief.

Since its inception in 1999, UST has dedicated itself to the mission of “Transforming Lives,” implementing 127 projects across nine Indian states and positively impacting over 100,000 people in 25 years. Through its education initiatives, UST has reached nearly 64,000 individuals, supporting more than 245 schools under its Adopt-a-School program and promoting access to quality education. UST also focuses on enhancing public healthcare by providing infrastructure and medical equipment, as well as offering customized wheelchairs and assistive devices for people with disabilities.

In its commitment to environmental conservation, UST has launched various projects, including tree and medicinal sapling plantation drives, along with forest and lake restoration efforts. These initiatives utilize advanced science-based techniques to benefit both local ecosystems and communities. Furthermore, UST has responded to natural disasters with relief efforts, including support during floods in Telangana, Noida, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and the recent landslide in Wayanad. The focus areas of UST’s CSR align with the UN Sustainable Development Goals 2030.
